Peter Verlinden

Peter Verlinden’s career begins in the chemical industry in 1986. After completing his studies in Marine Engineering at the Antwerp Maritime Academy, he embarks on a seafaring career as an Engineer aboard a variety of vessels, including oil tankers, LNG carriers, and dredgers. Eventually, he advances to the position of Second Engineer.

In 2001, he joins a renowned maritime survey company in Antwerp. Peter is promoted to Senior Marine Surveyor in 2011, and later becomes Operations Director.

Throughout his tenure as a surveyor, Peter nurtures a growing desire to establish his own marine survey company. In early January 2024, Peter co-founds the Alliance of Maritime Consultants and Surveyors (A.M.C.S.) with his professional partners, Johan Peeters and Michel Delaunois.

Johan Peeters

After completing his studies at the nautical institute in Breda, the Netherlands, Johan Peeters embarks on a multifaceted maritime industry career.

Initial roles in shipbuilding, construction, and electrical automation provided a solid grounding in maritime technology. In a subsequent educational role at the Cenflumarin Maritime Institute, Antwerp, Johan trains aspiring mariners in specialist technical subjects, deepening his knowledge.

He spends several years aboard dredging vessels and joins a renowned Antwerp maritime survey company as a surveyor/assessor in 2005. His extensive knowledge proves invaluable in complex evaluations, including ship and machinery valuations, damage assessments, and strategically overseeing acquisitions involving prominent family-owned enterprises.

In 2022, Johan establishes his own survey company, which rapidly becomes a success. On several occasions, his newly-founded firm is commissioned to conduct studies in support of regional government policies.

In 2023, after studying at the University of Antwerp, he receives certification allowing him to register as a Court Surveyor with the federal Belgian Court. His expertise is now also employed in the court of Ghent, where he serves as a court expert. In early January 2024, Johan co-founds the Alliance of Maritime Consultants and Surveyors (A.M.C.S.) with his professional partners, Peter Verlinden and Michel Delaunois.

Michel Delaunois

After completing his secondary education in electromechanics, Michel Delaunois began his professional career at sea in 1986 as a marine engineer officer. His ambition and dedication led him to the Higher Maritime School of Antwerp, where he graduated in 1993 as a Chief Engineer Class 1, unlimited. Michel held this position on board LPG tankers, oil tankers, and bulk carriers until 1997. After his time at sea, Michel took on a management role as a new-build supervisor at shipyards in Japan and South Korea. He continued his career as a technical superintendent for renowned Belgian shipping companies.

In 2006, he transitioned to marine surveying, joining a leading maritime survey office in Antwerp.

In 2018, Michel embarks on an independent career as a marine surveyor. Based on extensive experience and knowledge built up in a variety of maritime technical roles, he provides professional advice on complex hull and machinery damage and offers technical support in court surveys for law firms and other maritime-industry related entities.

In 2018, Michel obtains his professional drone pilot license. This enables him to perform fast, efficient technical inspections in hard-to-reach parts of ships, such as cargo tanks and ship holds.

In early January 2024, Michel co-founds the Alliance of Maritime Consultants and Surveyors (A.M.C.S.) with his professional partners, Johan Peeters and Peter Verlinden.
